The new Jaguars aren't retro at all. There are a few styling cues from the E-type, but the execution is thoroughly modern. The S-type, now that was retro.

MG's new cars aren't retro either, their styling has nothing to do with MGs of old. They're just sticking MG badges onto anonymous Asian-looking cars built with old MG Rover tech.

As for the new Interceptor, for Jensen a couple of references to the well-liked 1960s Interceptor is better than a design that has no ties to the past. Again, a clean-sheet design is in danger of being anonymous, and then people will accuse the company of just badge engineering or misusing the name.
