I have just been reading the Nov/Dec issue of Jets Magazine, and there is a slight typo that gives us such fantastic Whiffing possibilitys.
There is an article on the F9F Panther family and on page 59 there is a table saying what the differences between the various models were.
According to this the XF9F-4 was That is about 3.25 inches in 1/72 scale."a prototype with a fuselage lengthened by almost 20ft ahead of the wing to increase fuel capacity".
It is there in print so it MUST be true :rolleyes:

So is this where the six seat VIP transport was developed from. Or the three seat trainer. Or......................
