I'm looking for early 1/144 Aeroflot decals from the jet era, to adapt for a retro-jet.  I thought this would this would have been easy, but it's not that simple.  Firstly, older style decals are harder to come by as the kits aren't availble in the mainstream.  The second is windows, most decal sheets have the windows printed on or holes for them that makes adaption difficult.

If you can offer me the whole decals, that would be great, but just the titles would be fine as I should be able to adapt stripes from various decal sheets I have.  It's a mid size jet, something sized for the Tu-104, Tu-134 or similar should work well, earlier period the better.

Thanks!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

If nothing is forthcoming, you could try BraZ. Ivo has a couple of early Soviet airliners, and may be persuaded to sell a decal sheet separately. Do note that his decals are extremely thin and require a decal film before applying.

Thanks Harro.  I'd seen that he has a decal option for his Tu-134 kit that might work and as a bonus he includes his windows seperately.  If no-one can help, I'll see if he's willing to part with a sheet, it might take a little while coming from Brazil.

I've looked at a several options, but most seem difficult to apadpt in one way or another.  I've looked at Draw Decal, Avia Decal and F-DCAL, as well as several mainstream kits but nothing quite seems to be suitable.  I would have thought either the AZ or Zvezda Tu-134 kit might have been suitable, both are more modern and have the windows printed or as holes.  I've also looked at other kits from those manufacturers as well A Model, nothing quite seems to be right.

My favourite scheme would be the early Tu-104's with the lightning stripes (easier to adapt as well and I can easily create the stripes if they're not available), although I'm happy to go with something else.  In researching it I found Aeroflot are planning a retrojet for 2014 (roughly based on a Tu-104 style scheme, touted for an A320), I'd like to get the jump on them!

I may be able to help - do you have a close up picture of what you require?

Yep, i got the aeroflot decals from a 1/80? VEB Mil-6 AND interflug Il-62 decals (also VEB 1/80?)......

Mil decals are red/blue with the lightning "blitz" and have fake windows printed on them..

Cheers,
David

He's from Italy actually  ;)

It won't be a cheap option, I spent about E 20 getting a decalsheet from him direct.

Welsh Models also sell their decals separately and Densil tends to keep back stocks even when the kit itself is not being produced. And he's only in Wales too, no postal delays and probably cheaper as well.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Hi guys, sorry I've taken a little while to reply, I've been researching it heavily.  Thank you all for your help, I think David's kind offer of the decals from the Plasticart Mi-6 will work.

PM on it's way David.

Thanks again everyone!
