I used the Rareplanes vacform TR1 wings for my PR19b but that's a far cry from using Airmodel vacforms!

Using Airmodel anything takes real modelling skill....

Mmmm, I will have to think on that (looking at several airmodel vacuforms in the stash).

The only problem I found with the wings was that they were a bit thick but some aggressive sanding of the inner surfaces, particularly towards the tips took care of that.  There is a 40thou spar in there, which connects the outwings to the inner over the engines and which prevents any droop.

The only problem I had was that once I'd connected, puttied and sanded everything, one wing was much lower than the other.  I corrected it by putting a block under one of the undercarriage legs.  Then, when I was spraying it, I dropped it and of course, one of the wings snapped off.   I took the opportunity to correct it's droop and of course now the undercarriage didn't match, so it has a small piece of plasticard glued to the bottom of the opposite wheel to bring it back into line as I was unable to remove that undercarriage leg and put a block on top of it.   :banghead:

The undercarriage of the Matchbox/Xtrakit Meteor kit is anything but a design high point!  :banghead:

Trying to figure out exactly which one of the umpteen little bays the various struts and legs fit is the stuff of nightmares. All three of my PR19s have their legs and struts glued in DIFFERENT places! Thank goodness they're underneath and you can't see that...........

Anything you did to it would have been an improvement Brian!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
