not been around here for a while, but have been doing a little bit of modellling again of late, this is a Yank '46 Super (Duper) M26 Pershing. Basic premise is my extended WWII Pershing gets the V12 AV-1790, which didn't really come in until the M46 in 1948. So this is the M26A2E1 - the variant with the longer 90mm gun and extended turret bustle, it also has a thicker, more angled mantlet. All of which were tested at various times in reality, so not exactly back of a fag packet German '46 stuff

still a fair bit to do with small details - headlight guards, the solid moulded lifting eyes etc

you'll have to forgive the rather poor photo too

Very nice!! Just my $0.02 but have you considered side skirts? Might be a little before its time.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Scooterman

LOVE IT!  And very plausible.  That one will turn heads.

thanks chaps, been a bit of a while since I've managed to do much modelling so I am enjoying it, hope to get this (or at least something!) done by Telford...  :-X

I did consider some armoured skirts (and wondered why the US never tried for about another 40 years), will mock something up to see what it looks like

Damn Mike, you beat me to this one! ;D The 1790-powered Super Pershing has been on my "to do" list for a couple of years but other projects have pushed ahead of it in the queue. Not to mention the "Daddy stuff" that always takes precedence over hobby stuff.

Anyway, glad to see you back in action and I'm happy to see the V-12 Super Pershing as your return project.
Some clever and amusing quote goes here.

Looks good Mike, upgunned and subtle enough to get some head scratching going on.

Skirts might be a good idea, it really changes the look of a tank to add or remove them.  Just today I saw a pic of a Chieftain without skirts, I nearly made the mistake of thinking it was mis-identified T72.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
