That does look the business, no doubt about it!

How large is the whole diorama?

Thank you Kit, the diorama base is 16 inches wide by 10 inches deep.  The sub measures 10.5 inches.  Pretty small.

Jeepers, you need to re-calibrate your brain when you know just how small it all is!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Thank you all, I enjoyed the build.  I should have rippled the "water" more for more realism but I will be doing the caulk and spray paint method again...practice.

A few more pictures:

Next to a 1/72 Sea Harrier ("What if" AEW version without the radar pod and damage due to a fall) to give the project some scale.

Reminds me a bit of this artist's impression I saw in a book years ago, where sea darts took off from a dutch channel! (tho no sub there...hehe)

Very nice!
Great dio
The carpet monster took it!

The photo with the Sea Harrier really does convey their tiny size well - even more impressed
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Whif at 1/350 is very impressive!
It opens new perspectives indeed. The variety of kits at that scale might be less than at 1/72, but there are quite a few models around, I think.

and seaplanes are beautiful!
