It's been such an 'intense' couple of weeks leading up to mum's funeral, that yesterday I decided that today (Thursday), I'd simply take a day for m'self and go somewhere to recharge my batteries...

...So I went to Coningsby, here's a flavour:

915 Taxies out.

915 on hold

EB-B With LGB, Brimstone and designator pod !!

EB-J, ex-17 Sqn, hence the 'shiny' squadron markings

'Thumper' trundles past

And we get a wave from the 'dorsal gunner'

More soon...

....it's time to tidy the workbench"

Confuscious (maybe)

When it came back, it was at 100ft with the throttles jammed forward.... I kid-you-not, it roared over the our heads and dropped lower as it went over the BBMF hanger !!

Then landed quietly without drama.

EB-R passes through a patch of (welcome) sunshine. The lighting changed so rapidly today it played havoc with my cameras' 'auto' settings !!

BQ looked suitably anonymous except for the WingCo's pennant under the windshield !!

Last batch in a min !!

BR on it's way out earlier in the day, when the lighting was particularly poor.

Accompanied by BE. Both had to hold for a short time in front of me whilst two single-seaters and a two-seater from 3 Sqn practiced a QRA scramble !!

Yes it was pretty loud !!

EB-Q also went out to play, seemed to be an old TIALD pod under the fuselage, but I could be completely wrong.

And off it went, all thunder and crackling....

Thanks for taking the time to look. Plenty more pics on my Photobucket page. PM me if you can't get the links to work...

....What a day !!

Looks like you had a good time away from the trials and tribulations Ian, and with a cracking set of piccies as a result.

You can almost hear that Griffon growl in 915's pics.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mum Ian.

Great photos, good to have an 'unwind' after things.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
