Those two are great! Nice err....two!

For further development, how about USAAC/RAF versions with inline engines and extended rear fuselages to restore the CofG ?

So a twin-tailed F7F Tigercat with Hornet-style Merlin installation?  ;)

In essence, although I was seeing something more inbetween: a bit svelter, if you like. I could also see the early USAAC one having V1710s in P-40-nose-esque cowlings. Not for the efficiency, but for the style, you understand...

I agree.  ;)

Cheers,

Logan

I do agree about the *style* : that oh so short nose is what makes the Skyrocket so special!
It does look weird indeed, but that's exactly what I like about it.
So much so that I floatplanized it some time ago ... (in just yellow, because I like it)

Logan Hartke

Very nice.  I like that quite a lot.

Cheers,

Logan

Very nice builds Chris, and very unusual. I quite like these cute little buggers.

Sky Rockets  nice, but where are the guns? Or were they unarmed?

Regards
Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

In the nose Keith - I knew I'd forgotten to drill something out  :banghead:

Must admit they do look arctypical 30's to me and it's a period who's style I admire. So I'm with Logan on that one

Anigrand do the XP-50 and I may well pick it up and navalise it.

Hadn't thought of a in-line engined version. Interesting although the USN did love it's radials. And here's me building an Airabonita

Lovely floatplane version ericr

I had ideas for at least another 3 if I could get the kits, now my mind is swimming.

Thankyou Gentlemen you have made an old man happy  ;D ;D

The floatplane is sweet...

Leave it unarmed and add some Canadian logos for a firefighter spotter plane. Someone must guid ethose CL-215 water bombers...

Cool job

IMPO, I think you should leave them unarmed. They look for more convincing as a recon type or something of that nature.

Great builds and a great idea.

Tiger, Tiger!

Sauragnmon

Random thought... with the nose being short as it is, it would limit the ammount of internal space that could be taken up for the breech block and feeds for the guns... if you wanted to give it more punch, you could always use that section of wing-like space to sit a pair of cannons low in the nose, with feeds running one on either side in a straight, flat feed.

That said, Nice work!

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

Must admit that was what I'd intended to do Sauragnmon, just forgot  :banghead:

The prototype was scheduled to get 2 x 23mm Madsen cannon
