I found this pic on Google Images while looking for something else.

It seems to be a Northrop entry in the Convair XFY-1/Lockheed XFV-1 contest, but that's the only reference I can find to the proposal anywhere. While being an avowed fan of both the Convair and the Locckheed VTOLs, I think the Northrop version looks better than either of them, and is definitely modelable using parts from both the other kits.

Does anyone else have any references to this device please?

Erm, yes..........  :banghead:

A mind boggling site and a very easy way of paying for the stuff itself, but.......

How the DEVIL do I download the article now I've paid for it? There's no link anywhere that I can see and the site 'geography' is not only wildly complex, but there's no map either!

Ahah, thanks very much Duncan.

I wonder why it doesn't say that on the site, or if it does it's hidden so well you can't find it?

I'll await the email with interest, with my luck this week he'll be on vacation........

I echo your frustration Kit. I've got a lot of stuff from Scott (mainly the Unknown series of booklets ) and the first time I tried to download I got "slightly" frustrated. Once you know the form it's easy peesy  :banghead:

Scott's a very efficient guy in my experience.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Try our sister site Secret Projects forum, Scott posts as Orionbambam and ask if he got your email Kit.

After 3 days I emailed him and he replied overnight.

Now I've got enough information to build a full-size N63, never mind a model one! Thanks for the help gentlemen, very much appreciated.

I've started 'cutting plastic' on this. For sure it's not the easiest kit-bash I've ever done but I'm sure it's not impossible.  ;D

So far the only parts completed are the spinner and one tip tank, but it's a start. I'll open up a build thread elsewhere in the Forum.

Good luck Kit.
That's got me thinking on another multi-stash erection build . A tail sitting
F-4 Phantom thingy ,four wings, four sets of castors.
