So, I wasn't able to get any more profiling done today, but I had a very good reason.  I spent the day at Kermit Weeks' Fantasy of Flight Museum down in Polk City, FL.  I have to be honest, Florida is one of the best places in North America for people that like aircraft.  Click here to see the full album.  You definitely want to check out the full album if you want to see restoration photos.

That's Kermit Weeks, the museum owner at the controls.  He put on a beautiful, totally impromptu display that day.  If only you got a P-51D display with the price of admission at every aviation museum.

The world's oldest flyable B-26 Marauder.

This is the Ford Trimotor used in Indiana Jones.

That's Howard Hughes' S-43 back there.  It's in great condition, but will be even better when fully-restored.

There were storage hangars just full of engines like this.  I think the Ark of the Covenant is in there, too.

Cheers,

Logan

Totally awesome!

The Sunderland was the one that was zapped by 'The Great Hurricane' in the UK in 1987 IIRC.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Indeed, many of these aircraft were (including that P-35, for instance).  That's also why the museum is in its current location, much further from the coast.

Nice work Logan...thanks for posting. He's got everything in there ! Nice to see the restoration work as well, going to be some interesting aircraft coming out of there.

I missed the Sunderland when it came through Ontario on it's way south. Would have been nice to have seen it in the air.
