I would say that the F-105 is a comparable size to the P.1121, probably the same role wise too, but that's a guess.

The intended engine for the P.1121 was the dh Gyron, and it was a monster, rated at 20000 lbs dry. But it only ever flew in the test bed Short Sperrin, which had just one Gyron to start with, in the lower position of its port engine pod, but later on they added a second Gyron on the other side too.

Interestingly though, the Olympus 301 was rated at 20,000lbs too   --- and the Vulcan B.2 had four of them ---

Wasn't the Gyron earlier than the 301 though, even if it was a dog of an engine?
