Much loved of fiction writers and conspiracists, Nazis supposedly created a secret base in Antarctica which was destroyed by the Allies post-war, using atomic weapons.  Now we have the definitive account.

If nothing else, it's fodder for the imagination.  I am somewhat surprised that it has never been considered by Hollywood.  It'd make an excellent Indiana Jones adventure...
