Joining tracks

I have an Airfix 1/76 tank I want to whiff.
It has vinyl tracks.
What is the best way to join them?
When I last built armour with this type of track (30+ years ago) I seem to remember using either vast amounts of stringy humbrol styrene cement tube glue to weld them to a wheel or roller that didn't show or turning them into a molten blob of sticky mess with a hot screwdriver.
Suggestions please.

That was before Superglue ---

I've made a bunch of custom sized O-Rings by carefully cutting round section neoprene rubber into correct lengths and then super gluing the ends to make a ring. Should work on the vinyl tracks

I've successfully used CA glue, too, as well as those 2-part plastic glues (the ones with the felt-tip primer pen & CA-type glue).

However, I also melt down the pins, carefully, with a small metal spatula (like the ones you used in Chem class at school) heated with a lighter but not too hot (ie: hot enough that the vinyl softens but not so hot that it liquifies).

I generally use a mini-stapler, and put the join on the top run (one or two staples depending on the width of the track - two usually makes a more "stable" joint).
On occasion I've also sewn tracks together with fine thread.
What if... I had a brain?

I used to use thread of an appropriate colour, especially if the track proved to be a bit short ...

I've used a stapler when the top run of track is hidden and silver/grey thread when it isn't.

If i have broken or annoying tracks i sew them ,, i use a very fine thread and a super fine needle ..works every time no matter the track size .

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Thanks folks.  I have some of the "special" shiny plastic superglue somewhere and Mrs z has an ample sewing box so i'll try glueing and then sew or staple if it fails.
