i recently got a 1/48 Hobbycraft Arado Ar.234, and im planning to convert it (scale-o-rama) to a 1/72 lufthansa'46 Airliner.
now for this im planning on changing the nose of the aircraft, by placing a nose of a 1/72 bomber or airliner that is arround the same diameter as the fuselage (between 27mm and 29mm).

i was wondering what 1/72 aircraft kit would be suitable for this?

also ive been thinking of converting the aircraft from a jet engine to a Jumo 022 turboprop liner (with the landing-gear moved to the engine cowlings.)
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Maybe a DC-3, or a Martin Marauder? I think the latter could work well, because of its round fuselage diameter - and it is pretty streamlined. The glass nose could easily be replaced by a solid weather radar, too?

As an engine alternative, there are seperate B-47 and B-52 resin engine pods available. The result could look a bit like the Baade 152 airliner?

a good idea, but im looking for something that looks a bit more "German"  :-\

i was thinking maybe i would get my hand on a FW200 Condor, could that work

The Revell Fw 200 A airliner kit has the following dimensions at the panel line aft of the flightdeck just forward of the wing.
Height: 32.5mm; Width (bottom of fuselage): 32mm. The cross-section is trapezoidal, rather than rectangular
with the top being narrower than the bottom.

28mm fuselage depth in 1/72 is around 2 metres 'life size', so maybe use that to find a real world aircraft
of those rough dimensions. I believe the De Havilland Heron was roughly in that ballpark and the Airfix
kit can be found.

The Special Hobby Fw 58C nose, cockpit area and interior might be adaptable.

Somewhere on the www I have seen a pic of something you have described. I don't know what scale it is or supposed to be but it is similar to the Baade 152 pictured. Might even be on this site somewhere.
