Nah, too textured, streaky, and just generally ugly. Might try thinning it.

Aye. Maybe just a bad bottle ? Then again, I don't think I've ever used Tamiya paint.....

Twice.  Not that keen on it.  First time I brush painted it and positively hated it.  Second time airbrushed it with some reasonable results.  Still got to finish that model...

I can spy a painted Attacker from here sans decals.  RAF pilot refresher unit for that one.  Something simple.

Which is what I thought this one was going to be.  :banghead:

I've done it twice to a Frog/Novo Attacker and know how much work it is, hence the resin cockpit canopy and only a modest rescribe.  In flight "desktop" models can be just as effective as those sitting on the deck.

Painting is still giving me fits. Using MM enamels, and copying the scheme on the Airfix Spitfire MkI blister pack. But this paint is not great, comes out mostly matte with slightly glossy areas. Hope a coat of Future evens it out. Here's a crappy cel phone pic, more paint has been applied since this was taken:

That Andover is gorgeous ! Never seen one like that before....very nice.

I see your point re: the boat version....to remedy the intake/ wing layout would pretty much make a totally different aeroplane !

It's a 748 not an Andover.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Rat, I think it looks just fine in that paint.  Actually variations between paint- even of the same color, are quite realistic.  Gives a worn appearance.  Real aircraft can show some real differences in lustor, matte/glossy, etc.

It looks a bit better after the last, but probably not final, coat. But every so often I look at the stuff I did back in the 60s and 70s. Didn't wash the parts before painting, no primer, brushed on Humbrol from little tins, and they look damned good compared to this.  :-\
