Then I might have a bash at a English Electric Super Lightning (the single engined P.6 project), or perhaps a delta winged T bird Lightning.

I once ran the numbers.  A single-engined Lightning, powered by an Iroquois, would need no change to the inlet (one Iroquois has the same mass flow as two Avon 300's) and better performance due to lighter weight (probably better reliability, too, with only one engine to deal with).

Here's how it looks today after five years on the show circuit. As you can see the lift jet doors need replaceing.
The model will be going on display in the SIG's display case at the Midland Air Museum in due course (once repaired)
