i know its a very long shot but has anybody got one of these in the stash that is willing to part with it for a reasonable sum. i tryed a few times in the recant past on eBay's but i keep losing out the last time buy just a pound

Firstly I don't have one.  Sorry.
Secondly you are not missing out by "just a pound".  That's what Evil-Bay wants you to think and what gets people bidding just a little more, and more, and more, and more, and...
The winning bid may in fact have been 1 pound more than your bid but it is more likely that it is higher than that.  It's just that Evil-Bay doesn't tell you what the winning bidders maximum bid was.  Just that it was more then yours.
It's one of the quirks of this method of auctioning that the final price isn't the highest bid but is one increment more than the second highest.
