How about a 4 engine Heinkel 111?

I saw the bit about the 4 engined DC-3 over on Hyperscale and it reminded me of something vaguely familiar...Here's something I call the Heinkel 411 in 1/144. This was bashed from the Minicraft Heinkel 111 using two spare engines from another 111 and extra tailpieces from a Me-110. The nose is from a Minicraft 1/144 P-38 and the pilot's cabin is part of a canopy from the wreck of my 1/72 Williams Bros. B-10. The decals are from Microscale I think and came with the 1/144 Minicraft DC-3 and the model is brush-painted. The backstory is that this aircraft was produced by the Swiss subsidiary of Heinkel who decided to give it two more engines for better high altitude performance and load carrying ability. This was the first civilian aircraft to land in post-war Berlin, carrying a Swiss diplomatic mission and relief supplies. This craft was often used on the Bern-Trondheim route popular with ski and toboganning fanatics.

Great idea..I'd like to see someone attempt it in 1/72. I must say though...no offence intended...it is difficult to see much detail in the pics.

Terrific little model and backstory. Another Masterpiece By Brian!

You're right Zac...it's hard to photograph my cieling fleet. I'm practicing for taking pics of my Secret Santa build when it's complete...fooling around with the focus, flash, and the macro settings. Still, I'm glad you like it. :)

Hell yes I like it. I'm in love with the 411! Awesome work! I may do one myself in 1/72...if I ever get the cash and kits... B)

Keep it up, Bri, you're a machine!

Zac I am currently building one at the mo.

I have used two italieri Zwillwing kits.

It is some what stalled at the moment but will be finished eventually.

I hope it will be finished someday, seconding Brian's  , differently... :P
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Actually it's the Luftwaffe's premium heavy bomber. I still have to blend the extended fuselage in and scribe new bomb bay doors. I also have to increase the vertical tail surfaces and a whole host of other little mods to make it look like a realistic aircraft.

I do hope to finish it but it's very big and it makes it hard to take away with me. This year I have been away about 105 days for work. It is a miracle that I get anything finished.

I do take kits with me when I travel but it is hard to do anything that isn't simple or small because of the fact that I have to pack it into bags for travel.

My New Years resolution is not start anything new until my backlog is done.

Yeah right!!!! :dum:
