When I was a kid in the '50s the Aurora 1/48 "Burning Green Fokker" was the only D.VII on the market. This is my version of that classic kit with my own twist to make it unique. I added the cool looking striped upper wing using Tamiya 6mm tape. The kit is OOB except I replaced the crappy kit prop and wheels with replacements from the spares-box. The decals are from leftover scraps found in the decal bin. The paint is hand-brushed Xtracolor USN Willow Green over a base of rattle-can Armory White Figure Primer. I am planning on building more WW1 models based on the old classic '50s Aurora kit box-art. I like this little guy a lot. He looks good next to WW1 models that represent models of real aircraft.

Adios, Larry.

I remember the box but have never seen the model.

As for the colour scheme ? It really does look good, nice and simple but good
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Is that the one with the maker's name and date moulded into the underside of the wings?

I built one of those as a window display for my mate Derek's model shop in Oxford and painted it in a very well researched  camouflage scheme of the period. Some guy came in and complained that the model wasn't coloured like the box lid and he wanted one that he COULD paint like that.........  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
