F-5F !!

Mentioned over on the 'Stash' thread a couple of days ago, I was lucky enough to win an old Monogram 1:48 F-5F off a well known on-line auction site. I'm thinking a multiple blue/grey scheme or some form of air superiority camouflage  as trialled by the old Mirages in the late eighties/early nineties... all I need to do is find the right combination of tones to be simultaneously believable AND have a WOW factor !!

;D, Possibly an 'almost was', the CAC CA-4/CA-11 Woomera. A woomera is a spear throwing stick used by the Aboriginal people to extend the range of their spears when hunting food. The CAC version was a long range medium bomber with some very modern (for the time) systems. Partly due to a tragic airborne explosion and subsequent crash of the CA-4 (first prototype) and the increasing production of the DAP Beaufort the Woomera never saw production. The CA-11 (second prototype) had improved systems and safety but was just that little bit too late to see production. sadly it was scrapped at the end of the war. It's a great pity that in those days people didn't see the value in these one or two off prototypes. Another one was of course the CA-15. Some that didn't make even prototype stage after the war were as I think someone mentioned earlier, the CA-23, a twin Avon powered supersonic two seat long range jet fighter and of course the CA-31 supersonic jet trainer. This one did at least make mock up stage and the mock up still exists, although it was ordered destroyed but like the TSR-2(s) that still exist(s) it was 'disappeared' by 'rebel' staff at CAC. It's apparently in the Moorabin Aviation Museum. There is also a mock up of a smallish swing wing fighter-bomber designed here in Oz at the Ballaratt Aviation Museum. This one has intakes similar to those on a Mirage but I can't remember its designation at the moment.
