Interesting.  How long does foam last?  I'd be worried that by the time you finished laying it, it would have started to evaporate at the other end of the runway!

Depends on what the chemical makeup of the foam is.  As a side note, they've stopped foaming runways within the last few years for commercial emergencies, since it delays evacuation and potential knock down of future fires
