A few years ago, I bought a disc in Ebay of seaplanes, amphibians, and flying boats for which patents were filed, and while a few went on to being developed even further, such as the Sikorski Clipper, others never quite made it past the paper WAG stage. Some are down right strange, such as one proposal for a flying boat to be used as an aircraft carrier, whilst others look pretty nifty, and might have worked out, had the intrepid designer convinced a manufacturer to take a chance(unless he wanted to have it built using any funds he didn't have at the time).

So, here are few"

Well, that flying aircraft carrier is definitely that, but that little delta is kinda nifty looking, too.

Then there is that amphib with retractable hull.
