I was wondering last year what if tobacco advertising in sport hadn't been banned so I picked up some decals at Telford and started work on one of my 1/32 Airfix Aston Martin DBR9s. Apart from the blue wheels the chassis is as per the instructions but the body has been painted Camel Yellow with a blue rear wing.

I'm hoping to have it finished some time this week.

Old Wombat

Nice!

Gives me a (very) rough idea of how mine may look when I get to it. ;)

Excellent stuff, more time warp cars.

It really suits the Aston's shape too, an excellent idea.

Beautiful. Looks superb in those colours. Not as good as Rossi's M1 but pretty close

Looks great.
It's a very long time since I built a 1/32 car and they never looked as good as that.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks for the comments.  <_<

The interior is finished as is the body. I painted the sunstrip on the windscreen and added the decal one letter at a time to get the required curve. There is a gluey fingermark on one of the side windows so I may replace it with one from another of my Astons. Either way it should be on the Airfix Modelling SIG stand at Huddersfield on Sunday.

Love it. I don't smoke myself but I miss some of the iconic liveries - this is beautiful. Maybe a Saleen S7-R in Marlboro colours next?

Reading the title, I was expecting a diorama of an ill-tempered, desert-dwelling one-or-two-humped quadruped running alongside a car.... ;)

Looks good!

I've never smoked either but like you say there were some iconic liveries around back in the day.

The Aston is now finished and has already been to a couple of shows.

Over here in 'The Colonies' we had our share of tobacco liveries and some great alcohol liveries too. And I'm not just talking NA$CAR either.
