When I couldnt get a replacement French  decal for my" Corsair " thoughts turned to a Korean war scheme.

Having seen a supposed low viz scheme for a nightfighter I wondered if there were any other low viz markings available.
A quick post on another well know forum came up with the offer of a low viz corsair sheet sans instructions at a very reasonable  price.
Lord only knows what "Microscale " were thinking with this one. Hardly low viz on the gloss sea blue. The tail markings were an atrocious fit.
so bad that for one scheme no matter how I cut it it would not fit. :banghead: I thought it was meant for a 32nd scale  model. Even the carrier name was suspect,
Im pretty sure Nimitz wasnt even built when the Corsair was been operated.  :banghead: :banghead: Had to mix and match in the end and do a Wif.

Hope fully someone will have the instructions at Bolton or Huddersfield and I can do the next one properly.

Nice work! Those markings are a great retro/futuristic idea, being as they're for the LTV A-7 Corsair II

Dork, you have inadvertently created an awesome whif!

Now you just need to add the Nimitz decals & your whif is complete ...

... USS Nimitz didn't return from the past at the end of the movie "Final Countdown", eventually operating Vought F4U Corsairs & other WW2 aircraft when her hi-tech aircraft failed due to the lack of modern (1980's) support industries & while US industry struggled to ramp up its production capabilities to bring better jets on-line earlier.

Looks strange yet good ! A subtle whif in my eyes....who knows, maybe a unit decided to make their own low-viz markings ?

Looks good to me! It'll give the rivet counters fits! BTW is that 1/48th decals on a 1/72nd model? It fits pretty well. I'll have to keep this in mind.

If your still interested night fighters in Korea were black or nearly black with red letters. A-26, F-82 and Skyknights too.

Age ? Who mentioned age ?   ;D

That will throw a lot of people mate - tell them that one of the Corsair II squadrons did that to a warbird for some aniversary or other. Theyll believe you if nobody else  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Sorry guys, its a complete "wind up",just pulling your leg................................I did put the noooooooooooooooooooooooooose (nose growing) at the end.
I used various A-7 and A-6 markings  and even a few "greyed out" Hellcat star and bars to develop low viz and not so low viz schemes. Im hoping to bring it to Bolton and Ill get some more pics from different sides to show where it started and off course ended up.
