Hiya fellow whiffers !

Years back my buddy Dave from D&B's One Stop Model Shop showed me a trick of using the old glue tubes for fashioning parts. He made a new nose for a 72nd scale Hoplite chopper. Anyway, I started collecting my empty tubes and this is what I have ! I could put them end to end and probably get to New Jersey

I'm going to cut them open and remove the dried glue, and then flatten them out. If anybody wants a sheet or two or six drop me a line. Shipping would be pennies so no worries there.

I haven't used tube glue in years but I bet the Bondo spot putty tube would have the same material. Hmmmmm....
At least they don't put tooth paste in tubes made of lead any more!
And then there is the textured foil off of wine bottles. I have a couple pieces of that lying around.
Thanks for the offer.

I collect the foil discs from the top of Milo (=ovaltine or drinking chocolate) and Nesquick containers for possible future use.
Never though of doing the same with tubes.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Wine bottle foil works really well, as does the foil that Swann-Morton scalpel blades come in (I used one on my Swiss BF110). Useful stuff for things like tarps, seat belts, and in-scale sheet metal etc.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Great idea Cap'n C.....I have used the foil from margerine/spread tubs before.....

I had never thought of sourcing aluminium from a different source, I guess when you think of it there are lots of places to get some !

the only thing I have ever done with the tubes are some doors for a BAe146, that of course, I have never finished   :banghead:

I should be saving plastic as well. I don't know how many times I've seen somat interesting, thought about what it could be used for, and then threw it in the recycle bin !  :banghead:

I have a pot of random plastic pieces that could be used for something whiffy! Things like wiper blade clips, radiator caps, door handles, broken toys etc.
