One fundamental error there!

The Boeing 707 DIDN'T make the first jet powered transatlantic flight in 1958 by a long chalk. It didn't even make the first commercial jet powered transatlantic flight, that was done by a BOAC Comet 4 about 3 weeks before PanAm started their 707 schedules.

The first jets to fly the Atlantic were the Vampire F3s of the RAF's 54 Sqdn who flew it by stages in July 1948. The first non-stop jet flight was by the Canberra B2 that was being delivered to Martin as the pattern aircraft for the B-57 and that was in Feb 1951.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

"The first generation of jet fighters in both the US and USSR sprang from captured ME 262s." Utter bilge. I don't think the P-80 owed anything to it, the design was pure Kelly Johnson and the engine was 100% British.
"My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives." Hedley Lamarr, Blazing Saddles

Life is too short to worry about perfection

If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die
