These two kits were molded by Marusan in 1968 for the Eldon Toy Company and packaged like a big paper matchbook. They have been re-boxed by Entex, Fujimi, and Esci, among others. They are loose copies of the earlier Revell kits. Jim Cox painted the original 1956 box art showing  a White SE.5 and a Deep Purple Albatros D.III. The markings are all from the spares-box. The Albatros is OOB and the SE.5 has a Revell 4-blade propeller because that was what was in the original Aurora kit. The SE.5 is brush-painted Floquil ReeferWhite and the Albatros is brush-painted a Deep Purple made from Testors Flat Dark Sea Blue, Flat Red, and Flat White.

Adios, Larry.

I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again - something about that Albatros scheme really does it for me! Now I have a reason to get a Wingnut Wings kit...

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
