Hello all........does anyone have any idea who I would have to contact at Hornby/Airfix with regard to getting children involved in the hobby....? They would be Max's age (6). I have spoken to his teacher about his exploits at the Crewe show an she thought it was marvelous. They be to young to make kits unsupervised at the moment......so I was going to ask them about the lego style kits. Anyone witn any ideas/contacts I'd be grateful........

I'd start with the details on the Airfix website...

They have an outreach program in place, Project Airfix:

Note that the three different kit offerings are old glue kits.

I got the Spitfires for Armed Forces Day - we ran a model making competition - and they were new tool models ans a lot of the younger modellers found the cockpit interiors difficult.  So we missed them out but had to fit the pilot in!

Great offer.

The original offerings were certainly the older kits, although Airfix appear to be updating them.  The Spitfire Ia and Gnat are now new tools, the '109 is the older tool going by the screenshot.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Good luck.
The more kids get involved the better.

They do the make and take at Telford, it might be an idea to encourage the kids to leave them there for display, until they're ready to take them home?

They actually do similar events elsewhere, which are closer to home for max's schoolmates. A visit to the Hornby Visitors Centre might not be a bad idea for them, as they may cover school visits.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
