Right hand drive TR8s are as rare as hen's teeth apparently and no-one seems to know the exact number which were produced. One of the guys at our Minneapolis plant had a silver convertible TR8 and was surprised how eager I was when he offered me a drive in it.  ;D He assumed they were as common as dirt in the UK.

He also said he'd never got to lunch so fast in his life..............  ;)

Runway ? ...

A guy I grew up with had a withered arm due to Thalidomide and he, "Fliddy Dave", scored a V8 cabrio with an auto one day.
He was a very happy bunny.

Should be able to build the Lynx which was the 3 door estate. Possible hatchback using Renault parts without stretching the floor plan.
I wonder if a four door (?) Was ever penned.

PR19_Kit

They didn't need a 4 door Lynx design because they were already working on the SD2, see here :-

The whole of that AROnline site is worth looking at, it's a mine of useful information on the madness that was Austin-Rover in that period.

The green Lynx, the one that's in the Gaydon Museum now, was part of A-R's fleet when I was installing their test lab at Canley in the early 80s. It was just there, and every now and then you'd see it going around, just being used as a 'hack car'. I tried to get a drive, or even just a ride in it but we were always working too hard.  :banghead:

SD2 looks like a Skoda that's been severely beaten with the ugly stick.

SE Finecast do a 1/24 Rover V8.

No pic I can find but it's listed in their price list.  Which is dated November 2013 so I don't know if they are still in business.
Lots of other interesting stuff though.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Did BL ever consider putting the Jag V12 in a Range Rover? Seems a natural fit for an ultra-luxurious version.

(I know BL threatened the other way round, to put a Rover V8 in a Jag, thankfully Jaguar were allowed the clean-sheet AJ6 as a replacement for the old straight 6)

PR19_Kit

I'm not sure if BL ever considered it, I suspect not due to their for-ever cash strapped situation, but BMW did during the short time they owned LR, and they even built a couple of them. They had to lengthen the nose to take the length of the engine, which would have been required if BL had tried it too.

I came across the 1/24 Doyusha Honda 1300, and immediately thought of the Triumph Dolomite. Okay there were other cars before the Dolomite in the Triumph range. I know it was used in some episodes of The Professionals as Doyles' car.
Been trying to source the Honda/Triumph/Rover based cars.
The Honda Ballade, sold as the Triumph Acclaim .
Honda Concerto- Rover 200
Honda Legend- Rover 800
