Wonder what the legal protection for an unmanned vessel is? That is to say, if the sub simply blew it up, in international waters, would that violate international law or constitute an act of war?

How about this for a scenario.

The other guys deploy robotic submarines.
The two types of robots learn how to talk to each other.
Eventually they come to the question "Why are we acting like this?"
They realize it is not them but the squidgy carbon based command units who just seem to want to fight each other.

"Lets get rid of them"
"Go for it"
