Lovely Lightnings  Thanks for the pics
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Some magnificent stuff there, the Lightning Fest, the Super Lanc and the LS8 of course, all being faves of mine.

And the Thunderprop is really awesome, I MUST build mined one day.

the Super Lanc

I thought it looked more like a 6 engine Lincoln, is/was it a Lancaster?

It's awesome whatever it is.

Avro Doncaster Mk1 according to the label next to it. Very similar to the Lancaster Mk XL

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

The fuselage of the Doncaster looks to be Lancaster derived rather than from a Lincoln. It's got a Lanc nose and both upper turrets are Lanc as well. Just a different path in Roy Chadwick's Lancaster development  highway.  ;D

Thanks for sharing the pics - I particularly liked the Swedish Lightning.

Thanks for the Photos Zenrat. Sorry I missed the get together, I was in the back room collating results which is tedious. Great to meet you at registration time though.
Totally missed that Battle fighter
The Doncaster was a treat and it was all Lancaster.. two of them and some later engines.
I have to confess that the Finnish Lightning is mine. A few of us blokes decided to hit up the 1/72 out of Box Aircraft category with a few whiffers.
It was fun.

In that case it's EXCELLENT work! Most impressive.

I forgot to mention that whoever did the model of the Rutland Reindeer did a magnificent job. Not the prettiest aircraft in the sky, but to anyone associated with metal fatigue in any shape or form it's very significant, maybe second only to the Comet 1. I can still hear the awful creaking and groaning and then the tremendous CRASH when the tail fell off the structural test airframe in the Farnborough hanger in the film!

Glad to provide pics folks.

Kit - the Thunderscreech looked great but there were sink marks in the top of both wings over the wheel wells.  They were only slight (maybe not even visible before paint) but the shiny NMF finish meant they showed up if you looked at the wrong angle.  Something to be aware of when you build yours.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It was great to meet zenrat at Expo. It's the first time I've actually met one of our site's whiffers in the flesh.

The highlights were Galland's Wish and the quartet of Lightnings.

Here's some photos of Expo whifs not already seen from zenrat's pix:

Maybe less a what-if than a will-be, but love the stealth-eroding ordnance load:

This isn't a scheme I've seen before: is it a whif? Beautiful paint job, anyway.

And I thought this was a paint-it-pink what-if until I Googled it:

Whatever.

Dizzyfugu

Yes, the pink Mirage was real - a joke for the squadron leader, done over night. Next morning the paint was still wet, but it was taken for a single ride in this livery, hence the bare area in front of the cockpit, in order to avoid paint spillage.

Personally, I like the Finnish Lightning a lot!

The 262 scheme is I think RW as there is a pic of one looking identical in the show report in the latest AMW (the one with the Halifax on the cover).
