Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

QuoteI'm curious if anyone has taken a crack at a whif of one of the Middle Eastern terror groups using an autogyro as some sort of attack craft, say, loaded with a number of RPGs for offensive use.
Dude!  Do you really want to give muslim terror groups any possible ideas in how to create all sorts of death and destruction!?

That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.

If any of them are stupid(and I'm talking the kind of stupid that makes a semtex vest look like a life-saving idea) enough to try something like this, then they deserve the post natal birth control that this would afford.

Besides which, seeing as you desire to see "what if" limited, then what other areas of whiffing would you desire to see limited or done away with altogether?

This is a what if forum, which takes anything and any idea and gives it wings(so to speak).

I don't think this group operates in a fashion so that a thread is deleted on the wishes of one member.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I don't want to see this thread deleted as it's one of the few times that KJ Lesnick has commented anywhere other than in their own threads which some want deleted as not being far to technical for the group!

Besides, its not like Hollywood doesn't give them ideas as it is.  Or all the fact that all the sudden slew of SOCOM (Special Operations COMmand) memoirs being published aren't giving away Allied TTPs that they can pick up at any bookstore.

While I understand the concerns about Mr. Lesnik, and yes, I can come up with plenty of ideas that any terrorist could gleefully use, those ideas I choose to keep to myself, as, after looking at them dispassionately and with cold and calculating eye, I find that too many of them would be too easy and too destructive, so I choose to not share them with anyone(never ask an intelligent merry prankster for a solution, because he might just surprise you), but this autogyro whif was just a tad more ridiculous than anything the poster might fear.

Besides which, I did see something even sillier than a terrorist-piloted autogyro, and that was a diorama, many many years ago, of a 1/48 Cessna Skylane ridiculously overloaded with all manner of fantasy armaments(not fantastical, but what the discerning terrorist might desire), and my friend, who made the diorama, had even taken into consideration that it was overloaded to a fare-thee-well, in that the wings drooped dangerously and the landing gear was just about pancaked. But it sure looked nifty.

Right moderators hat on again - twice in two days  :banghead:

From some of the language being used this thread could very easily descend to the depths. So can I ask you all to please draw breath before posting replies. I don't want to intervene, but.......

There are some issues being raised here which I personally am not comfortable with at all. Having come to close by far to IRA bombs twice I find the whole subject of discussing terrorism on a forum such as this distastefull. However that is a personal opinion and as a moderator I realise that as long as the subject is kept within certain boundaries then it is a legitimate part of the What If genre. But please be carefull, think about it and don't post any purely gratuitous replies.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I have been keeping my language and phrasing down to a dull roar.

There are words and phrases that I could use which would mutate this to a flame thread, which I choose not to use, although it has been difficult, as I am, first and foremost a merry prankster with an extreme smart arse attitude.

I began this thread to bounce some ideas concerning modifying the Little Nellie kit to some other fictional use.

And I'm still trying to determine the dimensions of the RPG-7 warhead for such modifying.

jcf

The diameters of the various types of warheads are on the Wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-7

maxmwill

While the Wiki page gives the overall length(37.4"), and the calibre(40mm), there is nothing there about the diameter of the warhead and length of that as well. But, as the length is given, perhaps some judicious scaling could be done.

I guess I'm just basically lazy.

jcf

Smack dab on that page is a chart of the various warheads, with photos, weights and diameters.  :banghead:

I beg pardon on account of increased cranial density, because I missed that(and I read the article and skimmed over that table).
