Are there plans for a SIG display at any of the shows in late August or first half of September?

Hoping to make Brampton. If I survive Rad's bash and if the transport system is running

You WILL survive "Disney Goes Wild" and I'll be at St.Ives/Brampton with GOTH. :drink:

Hmm - might see if I can make Sutton Coldfield. Not promising, mind, particularly since I just put "Sutton Coldfield" into Google maps and the first autocomplete suggestion was "Sutton Coldfield Crematorium.."

Bollards!  IPMS Tyneside is going up to Edinburgh, so the SIG can annex a part of Wor Stand.

Is Donald Duck wild enough to start with or does he need to be "wilded" farther ?

It doesn't really need the SIG to book a show for us to maintain a presence.  I'd suspect that many clubs in the UK have at least one SIG member and all we really need to do is have a "satellite" presence at a show where the SIG proper isn't displaying.  A few small signs and some cards and we'd have more footprint.  Just takes a bit of bottle with your branch secretaries and determination to have your model on the club display.

I've been flying the SIG/Whif presence on my club stand for almost 20 years now, at least five of those when the tide of modelling opinion at shows was more against the whiffing genre than it is now.  Martin and others amongst the older hands will back me up on this.

There's ALWAYS a good turnout at Telford......... ;D

The Wooksta speaks volumes about the change of attitude in recent years. Way back when we really were seen as some sort of subversive element to 'proper' modelling and people would come and insult us verbally on our own stand! I once had to tell one gobby JMN that he wasn't being forced to come and look at our models, and if he didn't like them he could always sling his hook!

More recently Whiffing is trending towards mainstream, even modelling mags are showing a few (very few....) Whiffs amongst their published pics, and a large number of local branch stands feature one or more Whiffs within their displays.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
