I have a road map to build 7 Armstrong Whitworth A.W. aircraft which were successful in their own right but got forgotten by the more "sexy" designs.

The A.W. 47 Antares was a Griffon power dedicated ground attack aircraft. Packed a train busting punch of 4x 20MM cannons. The Russians loved them.

Here are the build shots:

And the finished product:

The victims are:

Hasegawa P-40E for the fuselage. Small scratch built fin extension
Academy Typhoon Ib for the wings, fin and landing gear
Horizontal stabs are from a F-84
A piece of an X-15 external fuel tank
Academy Spitfire XIV for the propeller and Griffon bulges
Authentic P-40 Decals

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

What a well executed idea ;D although I can't see where the X-15 tank comes into it :)
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

  Wonderful!
(Is this a true project turned into a model without commercial kit for this? or a complete invention of yours? the second way would be even more marvelous...)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

@Tophe: It is a product of my diseased mind. And I have 6 more designs in the wings. And all your great drawing are not helping.

@RAFF-35: It is right behind the engine on the underside. The P-40 wing has a bulge while the Typhoon wing is flat. I needed to blend it in.  There is not much left.

Very nice indeed.

Tophe, there was indeed a real project that received the A.W.47 designation, an unbuilt light reconnaissance bomber from 1940.

Now that is neat. Looks like a simple enough build, the first pics without paint anyway, and it's pretty easy to see what you've used to build it. Then you see it completed and painted and it's like a whole different animal ! Love the powerful look. Defo saving this idea for a future build. Great stuff indeed.

VERY cool idea and rendition! Very grunty look, and the Russian P-40 shark mouth suits it perfectly!

Whiffie nomination well deserved!

A powerful little brute, and looks rugged enough to please the russians. Very nice idea and realization.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.
