I am not 100% certain. I think it comes from a Special Hobby Griffon Spitfire, one of those kits that come with various rudders and propeller options, but I cannot give a guarantee.

Another great build/finish/back story......love it. I knew I'd read something about the markings before......i found it in my Osprey Aircraft of the Aces, no.11 Bf 109D/E Aces 1939-41.......p72. It states Kommodore of JG53 Hans-Jürgenvon Cramon-Taubadel had annoyed Göring by indeed marrying into a family of non 100% Aryan. He was also the only member of the old guard not to be awarded the Knights Cross and his unit 'punished' by the overpainting of the ace of spades insignia. When Hauptmann Wolf-Dietrch Wilcke assumed command of III/JG53 he retaliated against the order by having the swastika removed from the Gruppe's aircraft.
