I discovered this site entirely by accident, whilst searching for something else.  When I found the images, it was like hitting the jackpot.

Unbuilt VSTOL Projects

The site's broken down alphabetically by manufacturer, then by project.  There are helicopters, jets, props, etc.  If you look under Bell, there's a whole slew of armed tiltrotor designs.  Under the other designers, some of the picture links are broken, but there are still some good-sized images of other things.
