Okay, so two shows and a bit of non-model-related good news have left me feeling inspired again, so I've decided to crack on with models in the themes I've established. First up, a Fleet Air Arm Grumman Cougar to go with my FAA Panther. Kit is Hasegawa 1/72nd, colours will be low demarcation EDSG-over-sky with Suez stripes and markings from something suitable on the Xtradecal Seahawks sheet.

Nothing photographed yet: cockpit semi-assembled and undercoat drying, and wings assembled. Kit looks pretty nice so far, couple of wierd points are:

1. Nose cone has no rim or pins to locate it. Might make some tabs of my own.

2. The jet pipe is an odd design, attaching to just two tiny pins and a flimsy arrestor-hook bracket. We'll see how that goes...

As far as I know, there's no 1/72nd injection two-seater in production yet (Sword have announced one) the only way to get one being a Falcon vac-form conversion set.

The well known Model Show-itis strikes again! My commiserations.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards

I have one of those and plan to make an ETPS version with it

The existance of the Sword version will probably push me towards putting the Twogar front end on a Panther airframe. It'll still be FAA, but it should still fry some heads. The justification is that it's how the FAA gets more value-for-money out of it's Panther fleet following the introduction of the Cougar and the steady reduction in carrier decks.
