Do they get taught any history at 7?
You could always work it into his school work - Fatty Goering starts with 97 Me 109's.  23 crash on take off, Galland suffers an Ashtray fire and 17 are forced to turn back with misfiring engines due to the Maquis peeing in their fuel.  How many would have been shot down by the RAF if Defiants had forward firing guns and tactics to match?

Well, I taught history as a subject to 7 to 11 year olds.......BoB was covered in "Things my grandparents can remember"  but it would be great grandparents today.

56 109's reached the target area. Dowding being a clever chap, he had a MIX of Defiants, some turreted and some wing mounted guns. In the melee and confusion he had intended to create, the turrets got 9, wing guns got 14 and  kamikaze herring gulls took out another 5. One was lost as a result of an OWN GOAL. Of the 27 returning, three ditched out of fuel, 4 had an undercarriage collapse on landing and one suffered an unfortunate fire during refuelling.

I think that leaves 19.

It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

NARSES2

Those large scale ships are just incredible. I saw Dreadnaught the previous week in the flesh and she was amazing. Arizona looks fantastic as well

Thanks for posting Harold especially the Blackburn Blackburn  ;D It looks so much like a cartoon character that it must be where Disney got the idea from ?

Final point. What's the Brockley Whins sign in the background ? It's the new fangled name for what was Boldon Colliery just up the road from the family farm. Seems strange to see it in what is a heritage museum.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

A leading contender in the World's Ugliest Aeroplane Competition!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

New fangled name? It opened as Brockley Whins in 1839 until 1925 when the LNER decided that Boldon Colliery sounded more important. After the pit closed in 1982 the station went back to the original name in 1991.

Maybe Blackburn Blackburn could appear in Planes 3 - the ugly aircraft no-one loves...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ah cheers Nick, never knew that. No I wasn't around back then  ;D I think it must have gone back to BW when the Metro opened and took over from the railway. Although to be honest I wouldn't have guessed at that long ago, but then I didn't even remember how long the Croydon Tram had been running  :banghead:

Radish

Back in the last century when I taught 7-11s, we did lots of history until a (very naughty word) of a Headteacher said we should do more science. Bollocks to that.
So I did an "Invaders" topic with bits on Vikings, Normans, Henry VII....we had a town burnt to the ground by Vikings, a castle built by Normans, but originally sited by Aethelfleda(daughter to Alfred the Great and Queen of Mercia), and Bosworth isn't far away when the usurper killed RIII. :drink:
Later, in Y6 did a WW2 topic and a kid's granddad bought his log book in from when he was in Bomber Command. Fabulous. Lots of other stuff too.

Science.....well, I did "Dennis the Menace in Space"
It proved very popular.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....
