Hi all, this new build is based on Bobba Fett's Slave-1 ship from Star Wars. I always loved the ship, but one thing that never settled with me for some reason was the way it flew  ;D so I have now created this dedicated ground attack variant of the original model.... Which now permanently flies the right way around  here are some pictures of today's progress....

Ah, you display the usual prejudices of those born in a gravity well.  In space there is no "right way up"...

Good job.  Like the paint on the, ummmm, skirt?

I wonder what the origins of the design are?  It looks like the model makers at ILM attached a door handle to half an easter egg mould.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Hahaha, touché  I haven't applied my paint job for it yet, embarrassingly that's the scheme supplied with the kit.
In terms of the origin of the design, it puts me in mind of an aquatic snail, hence the name 'murex'  ;D

Captain Canada

I love the call on the naming of it ! Great idea on this one. I never understood the way it flew either.

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Camouflage scheme certainly suits it

Progress update: outward appearance shows little difference, but lots of little details have been added, more have yet to be added before weathering

Also, quick question, what are your intelligeble opinions on how the rocket pods should be painted to be more Star Warsy?

Either Red/White like they fell off Luke's X wing or Blue/Silver like R2D2

I can just see that stalking it's prey close to the ocean floor

Its awesome ,it looks like the wings with the turret and bomb  fold up with hydraulics because of the now silver rods, it looks great.

RAFF-35

Think I might have finished the Murex now, possibly.... For now? Apart from the rocket launchers that might need a new paint scheme/weathering etc etc.... Anyways... I present the murex ground attack fighter. Don't know which side it fights for or which battles it's involved in, but ohh well

It really does look like a submarine attack craft to me, but then I'm an old "stick in the mud" when it comes to ideas - love it

Sandy bottom ?  Some of the Italian WWII Spinach and Sand smoke ring schemes might work for a sub on a sandy bottom.
