A damn serious back story and yet a kinda of beautiful looking plane. Such are the sad realities of the real world that our whiffing reflects.
Whatever.

Thanks all! It really was fun to build, and the kit goes together so well it was very enjoyable.

Regarding the backstory, I realised that my stories tend to have a real "rose-tinted-glasses" view towards the machines of war I build and that generally they're great successes in the history I craft. After looking into the Spanish colonial conflicts I realised "glory" wasn't really part of that bit of history, and decided to reflect that a little. That being said, at least one of my current WIPs is a "warbird of glory"!

Because of the engine cowling shape I was going to build the Fw187 (a built hand-me-down from a friend) as a Spanish-built Merlin-powered machine in Africa - like the real-world Buchons - but the Mosquito props were too big for it. This project was a perfect home for those engines and it all worked out rather well! I'm very pleased with the look of it.
