Been a while since I have done something Sci Fi here, so to get the mojo happening I pulled Stargazers's 1/144 Aries 1B resin kit off the shelf.
All in all, this is a pretty nice kit in a nice handy size
So after the initial construction which is pretty easy, we are here

Lights.. must...have... lights, so drilled out the thrusters. I plan to base is just of landing point, so a bit still in the air...err space.

Bonus! They work. A group of 4 series LED to give light into the cabin

Testing.. the cockpit LED are red but not installed at this stage

Some dressing up of the thrusters a bit to hide the LED's somewhat

There is not a lot of room to run wires in this so it got a bit clunky as the zero planning I did came back to bite me on the ar$3.
But I got it together.

Just into painting, so more shortly

Thanks

Another brilliant piece of Stargazer 2001 resin magic given the equally brilliant buzzbomb treatment!

Just the fact that you can wire up lights that work without killing you or setting fire to the model impresses the heck out of me.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

....or the whole HOUSE even!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks guys.

Because a lot of this has been happening for a little while...... we are done !
Although the kit put up a valiant rear guard to try and stymie completion with various bits and pieces (or my masking, take your pick) here we go as the painting was pretty much a two session effort.

It is pretty much the same all the way around

and no lights to show off the the lighting effects

Not sure about the dust "effect" yet.. this may disappear between now and next week at the Aussie Model Expo

Cheers
