Huma 1:72 Junkers Ju-287

Another model hits the finish line. This is of course the Huma kit (I think Planet does some of the variant layouts in resin) and it is a very buildable kit.

It uses the great Huma innovation, what can only be seen as plastic photoetch. Very small parts which use regular plastic glue, mostly in the cockpit and the RATO struts. Good stuff, though they require attention to use.

No major drama (other the Great 2015 Mojo Drought), and this was one of the first I picked up when I got back from surgeries in 2016. Fairly pleased with it, though I was still using a semigloss topcoat at the time and it needs to be more matte I think.

This is complete aircraft #460 (#27 for the year), finished in March of 2016.

That must have been HUMA's largest ever kit, wasn't it? It's a LOT of plastic for a relatively small operation.

Yup, I like that as I do Huma in general. Normally go together quite well and as you say they didn't waste effort on things you couldn't see

Nice job on the Ju 287!

I don't have the Ju 287 kit to compare it to but I think the Huma Ju 288 is their biggest size kit or at least as large.
