Well I think a SEAC Tempest is a bit like Christmas - been done many time, many ways!  ;D

However as this is the first model I've managed to complete since the end of November last year, it marks the return of my modelling mojo and I am fairly pleased with how it turned out.

The basic premise is that the issues with the Centaurus engine mountings were sorted out sooner rather than later, and Tempest IIs were therefore given a higher priority than they were in our real world timeline

Several squadrons in SEAC therefore recieved Tempest IIs rather than Thunderbolts when replacing their Hurricanes and the model represents an example pf one of those aircraft

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

The Wooksta!

Nice, although the cockpit interior should be black (all HSA group aircraft had black cockpits from 1942 onwards) and the fuselage decking should be HSS all the way up to the headrest.

One thing that DEFINITELY is silver is the area behind the exhausts.  Certainly on the Sea Fury, that area was always kept polished - any staining could indicate what if anything was wrong with the fuel burn in the engine.  Think of it as Litmus paper. Hence why RAF Tempest IIs having a silver panel there when the rest of the aircraft is in camo.

Few extra touches: bit of black paint to represent the wing root intakes, some stretched sprue aerials, paint in the wingtip lights and add some drop tanks (in med sea grey for a bit of colour) from the Heller Tempest V.  They will fit the Matchbox wing and the location points are marked under the wing.

Tempests had the same rocket rails as the Typhoon, so an ideal use for the spares in the new tool Airfix kit that Home Bargains are happily flogging for less than the price of a pint!

Looks good to me! I like the markings and the colors.

Nice! SEAC markings definitively suit a lot of aircraft, and the Tempest looks very elegant.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
