Thinking about the B-39 this looks like it might be doable by using 1/48 late model P-38 nacelles on a 1/72 B-29 or 1/72 ones on a 1/144 scale B-29.   Does the nose appear longer or is that merely a trick of the picture?

Just the photo. 41-36954 was one of 14 standard YB-29-BW airframes (c/n 3325) built with Wright R-3350-21s. She was later rebuilt by General Motors to trial the V-3420-17 installation.

to be mischievous  -  wasn't the Ultimate development of of the B-29  the Tu-85 by the means of the Tu-4 (50% larger than the original, more range and payload - although abandoned for the TU-95) :wacko:
