At one point in time, I decided to attempt building one of each of the ships named Enterprise. The HMS George, a sloop of war, was captured in New York lake during The Colonial War by a Colonel Arnold. He later re-named the ship, USS Enterprize, the first of the line.
Now, first of all, I knew there was no plastic models of a sloop of war anywhere, so using the web page on , "These are the Voyages of........", found the drawing of the said ship, and set to work. The best bet was the Bounty or Endeavour, same shape only smaller. Airfix's Endeavour isn't around at the present, so the Bounty it was to be. The model Bounty is 1/87 scale, my George is 1/48 scale so there had to be changes!
The deck was cut down and glued lower, the sides had to be heightened, the removal of the fore and mizzen masts' housing. Everything on the Bounty, (I intended using) had to be made larger, a big job!
As you see her now, the mast, jib and yards are on, and she has her first bit of 'standing rigging' in place.
Time to get this far : one month of solid work.

And its damn beautiful too! Sloops are probably my favorite sailing ship(especially pirates... mmm) and How many enterprises do you have? Are you going to do the Virgin Galactic VSS Enterprise?

Beautiful ship ya got there. And I dont even like ship models that much.
