Luftwaffe EMW A4b, April 1945

The Plane:

The A4 (V2) was the first ballistic missile used on combat. To exchange its range, a winged version of it, the A4b was devleopled and tested twice between January 1945 and the end of the war. However, this project was a failure as the missile lost one of its wings during re-entry.

The What-if:

Based on the A4b, a manned version was developed with a range close to 700 km. While there were first ideas that the pilot should eject before impact, its quite obvious that those kind of missions would have been suicide ones as there was no real chance of survival.

In real life, Wernher von Braun planned the manned A4b (designated A6) for a civilian usage where the rocked should have landed on skids after a 17 minute flight.

The Model:
The model is a Special Hobby 1/72 kit, build OOB with a few additional decals. The kit contains the A4 and the launch pad. The trailer is also a Special Hobby kit while the towing tractor is an unknown resin kit I got form ebay.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
