Kinda got the idea to perhaps do this after finishing watching the entire rebooted Space Battleship Yamato 2199 anime series last night. Was thinking of possibly converting either a Tamiya 1/350 scale WWII Missouri hull or a modern New Jersey hull, into a Space Battleship Iowa spaceship battleship.
I've got a few extra Gundam robot model kits that I can rob parts from that might look good for a space battleship. I was also thinking of "reducing" the size of the bridge and superstructure area to that of 1/700 scale. In other words, I'd like to put a 1/700 scale bridge and superstructure onto a 1/350 scale hull. Doing this will make the ship look bigger. Anybody who has seen or read about the SBY2199 series will know that the Yamato was made "a lot bigger" in the series. The ship just looks better and more accurate dimensionally.
I'm looking for ideas and suggestions for adding and building the main guns, AA guns, superstructure, engines, and all other features.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Works for me. Are you adding a spinal weapon as well?
