I find it somewhat ironic that many modellers are salivating at the mouth and rushing out to buy kits that were well past their prime in the 80s and have either slated or eschewed with a sniff when seen in bargain bins at shows in their Revell boxed guises.

Price. I'd hesitate to pay even a fiver for any of these, but at £2 each, they're just cheap whiff-fodder. Their accuracy issues might be more trouble than they're worth to fix for folk who are bothered about it, but if you're making a totally fictional aircraft out of a scaleorama'd B-1 or a Buck Rogers spaceship out of a Stilletto, you really don't give a damn.

Apparently a small restock of Airfix Gladiators and Spitfires has been seen down south.

Lee bearing in mind where you live that could include most of England  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

This is true.  However, I'm not going to repeat my trawl of Home Bargains. Simply don't have the time.

Checked out five HB stores today, including one that wasn't open yet for the Airfix feeding frenzy. Found kits in only two of them and interestingly, in both cases they were back in the Toys section, not Men's Gifts. I think I'm done for now: I'll have another look after Halloween when they re-jig the stores for Christmas (well, more Christmas: they've got some already).

Unfortunately they didn't have any of the ones I'm looking for for RAFF-35. However I got:

2 x Sdkfz.7 halftracks with quad 20mm AAA - changed my mind on these since although the moulding's awful for accuracy, they'd make good-looking sci-fi/fictional weapons

2 x Vought Kingfishers - floats for the float box, the advantage in this case being that the kit can be built with the wheeled undercarriage too.

The Kingfisher kit, with it's one-piece slot-through wing and optional wheels, looks hauntingly familiar: did Monogram re-box it at some point?

Monogram's Kingfisher is 1/48, don't recall them ever releasing the old 1/72 Lindbergh kit.

Quite right: found the kit on the stash now and it's Revell.

Thought I would pop into Home Bargains as I was sure someone had said they were selling more kits. The only kit I saw was a Revell 1/32 Bo 105 which was of no interest to me.

My LHS has some of those new/old Lindberg kits, but at around £3-4 each.

Not that I need any, I already have 2-3 of each of them!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

What I remember seeing posted was something not related to Lindberg kits Kit
