Spotted this and thought it could be an interesting build for our armour builders

I knew about the Panther tests, but not that they even considered the bulky and underpowered Tiger II? Anyway, good whiffing fodder - maybe Sweden also got hands on a E-50 or E-75 tank and twisted it to their needs...?

Who said the Swedes would have to stick to an exact copy of either the Königstiger or the Panther?

Afterall, they acquired them to test anti-tank mines & anti-tank guns against, to see how their defences worked against the lastest generation of armoured vehicles.

As a secondary function for the collection of data for developing their own range of AFV's, I'm sure the Swedes were smart enough to pick up on the faults of these vehicles, as well as their strengths & how best to develop such a heavy vehicle using their own industries for their own purposes.

I'm pretty sure they'd, also, be smart enough not to use heavy armour in their northern bogs.

Reminds me of when I went to stay with a school mate and his grandparents in Holland sometime between 1959/1961 (his dad married a Dutch lady he met whilst in the army in 1945) and there was an army shooting range nearby. When the red flag wasn't flying you could stroll across it and there were quite a few German WWII tanks still being used as targets, or maybe just left there after being used as targets ? As 7 to 9 year old's we were in heaven
