CallSignOWL

I didn't see an intro page, so I hope this is the right spot!

CallSignOWL here, I just joined up after a member of my IPMS chapter mentioned this forum to me. He knows I like to build off the wall subjects, and thought this would be a good place for me to find other odd-ball builders and crazy inspiration.

I've been building for about 10 years now, having started with the "model rocket and airplane club" that was hosted by my high school's AFJROTC instructor. I continued the hobby thru college, building away in my dorm room.

I primarily build aircraft in 1/48 and 1/72, but have some tanks and helicopters under my belt, too. I've always been interested in the more outlandish, and have a particular fondness for the Ace Combat series, as well as Crimson Skies.

I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing our WTF ideas! :)

Yes, you're definitely in the right place then.  ;D

Welcome to the madhouse..........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

CallSignOWL, eh? Are you a Whovian, then?  ;)
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

I don't know about Crimson Skies, but we have had quite a few Ace Combat threads on the forums. Particuarly having to do with the ASF-X Shinden II which always seems to be a favorite subject. ;)

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

watch out for the reality police we are on their proscribed organizations list

watch out when moving around the imaginary air fields ....just because the aircraft is along way away it doesnt mean that the end of the wings wont hit you
